Individual Note:
     The founder of Guthrie Oklamoma was a near relative of hers. Her name appears two ways. That of "Alemeda Mahala" and also as "Mahala Alemeda".

Individual Note:
     He attended the private academy of Daniel G. Beede at Center Sandwich. In 1860 studied law. He enlisted in the Civil War Aug. 26, 1862 in Co C. 5th Mass. Infantry. The regiment was mustered in Oct 10, 1862 and mustered out at Wentham, July 1963. On Sept. 16, 1862 while his regt, was a Wenham, Mass. he was admitted to the bar. Obtaining a day's furlough he went to Newburyport where the court was in session and took oathas an attorney and counsellor at law. After he was mustered out he practiced law at Danvers, MA. April 1870 he removed to Washington Court House, Fayette County, Ohio where he practiced law and four years later forming a partnership with Judge Maynard which lasted until Oct. 1, 1874 to May 1, 1885. Oct. 1881 he was elected a member of the Legislature from Ohio, re-electedin 1883, serving in all four years. 900 and 1901 he was city solicitor in Washington Court House. Owned four farmsin the vinicinity.
        He left home at the age of twenth three and went to Peabody, MA where he read law in the office of Sidney C. Bancroft, where he remained one year processdng from there to Salem, MA. where he studied in the office of Perry and Endicott: Admitted to the Massachusetts bar 1862; same year he enlisted in Co. C. 15th MA. Inf. Served 1862-63. After the war he opened a law office in Danvers, MA Nov. 1, 863. April 1870 he removed to Washington Court House, Ohiowhere he formed a law partnership with Col. H. B. Maynard which continued from Oct. 1, 1874 to May 1, 1885; Legislature, 1881 and1883.
      He was educated at the Beede Normal institute, Center Sandwich, NH. In late life he devoted himself largely to real estate interests. He served in the City Council of Washington Court House, was a memeber of the Onio Legislature 1882-6; and in 1900 and 1901 was a City Solicitor of Washington Court House. Decaon in the Presbyter in Church; Commander of John M. Bell Post G.A.R. and a prominentmember of the I.O.O.F. and other organizations.

Individual Note:
     He settled in New Martinsburg, Ohio where all his children were born. He later resided in Montovia, Morgan County, Indiana. He was a farmer and carpenter and contractor. he also resided in Curtisville and Indianapolis, Indiana. (One genealogy record found in Ancestry.Com indicated he was born Jan 8, 1833 and his marrieage date as being 1853.)

Individual Note:
     This Joseph Hadley is probably the Joseph who married 1)in 1808 to Sarah Chase (or Chapman) 2) in 1825 to Sally Wallis (in Sandwich, NH), and 3) in 1847 to Mrs. Joden Brown. There is no record of children from any of these marriages. (A. M. Hadley manuscript). He died in Sandwich, NH at age 76

Individual Note:
     James Monroe Hadley was the first conductor on the White Mountain RR. He was a prominent citizen of Wyandotte, Kansas. He was also a Mason. He resided in Littleton, NH from 1854-1864. The 1850 US Census has him working as a stone mason and living with his wife and three children in the town of Rumney, Grafton, Co, NH

     Samuel Hadley burned to death, according to Little's History of Weare. His death occured in Sandwich, NH. Record of death gives his age as 25 and the day he died as June 8, 1784. This may be an error.

      Feb. 2, 1740 (vol. 56, p 212 Hillsborogh County NH records) Benjamin Hadley of Amesbury, MA deeded Amesbnury land ot Doodwin.
        1747 (vol. 56, p. 531 Benjamin Hdley of Amesbury District bought land in Haverhill District (Plaistow or vacinity) from Nahtaniel Johnson of Haverhill.
        Aug. 25, 1749 (Vol. 99, p 65) Benjamin Hadley deeded t Samuel Hadleyboth of Salsbury & Amesbury District in the Province of NH, yeoman, for 1500 pounds, two pieces of land. One piece being 30 acres in Haverhill District in NH, bounded northeast on the Line between haverhill and Almsbury. Teh other piece, 55 acres, "being part of a Farm laid out to the Right of Wm Sargent and by divers Conveyances handed down to the present Grantor Benjamin Hadley". It was bounded southwest on Haverhill line..."in Salsburyand Almsbury District in NH aforesead at a place called Derby Hill." Signed, Benjamin Hadley his mark, ackn. May 8, 1754; recorded June 9. 1769.

Individual Note:
     One source says her father's father was John Weed. Willis Hadley book says she was born 10/22/1701.
Another source says she was born 22 Oct 1701 in Amesbury, Essex Co, MA. She may have been the youngest daughter ofg Lieut. John Weed of Amesbury who was one of the original settlers of that town and who died in 1689.
